Engineers Drop Game 2 to Grand Street

3/24/23

[From Coach Nardiello]

While Game 2 vs Grand St. didn’t turn in our favor.. we learned valuable lessons. About positioning our OF, taking control of pop-ups.. challenging hitters and throwing strikes. Four pitchers got real game experience – but we have to come right at them. They had only 5 hits, and 3 were gifts. We walked a month’s worth of batters, and the dam broke. 13-1.

[From GameChanger]

Grand Street High School scored seven runs in the fourth inning.  I Mercedes, S Torres,  R Rodriguez, E Polanco, and C Martinez all drove in runs in the frame.

E Lebron was on the pitcher’s mound for Grand Street High School. Lebron surrendered one run on one hit over three and a third innings, striking out three.

Logan Reiman started the game for Engineers. The southpaw lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out two.  Owen Bassett, Elliott James, and Archer Tsang each contributed in relief for Engineers.

Hugo Tosler and Zach Harwayne each collected one hit to lead Engineers.
