From Coach Nardiello: Fun but strange day at Pier 40. Guys enjoyed the rare spectacle of a lunar eclipse, pre-game. We took a 2-0 lead into the 4th, with solid defense and pitching threatening to tilt this game, but then the wheels came off.. with… us ahead?! Lunacy. Two Unforced baserunning blunders erased 2 runners in scoring position within 1 thrown pitch! Stuyvesant then turned the momentum. We walked 4 in their half of the 4th and hit a batter, and unlike our team, Stuy got 2 timely extra base hits that plated 4 runs. We had this game in hand, then didn’t. And K’d 10x (7 in last 3 innings.) Clearly, our “path to totality” includes learning from mental mistakes and how to win.
