From Coach Nardiello: Our Engineers got the Win, today, 16-14 over the Stuyvesant Peglegs, thanks to a ‘never-say-die’ attitude–we were down, 6-0 in the 1st inning–and the offensive explosion we’ve been waiting for. Our MVP today was Sawyer Reo with 3-4, 2B, 4R, 5 RBI, 4 stolen bases. Plus, Hugo Tosler (2-3, 2B, 3R, 2BB), Simon Scherber-Brennan went 3-4 with 3 RBI, Trevor Nieuwenhuis 2-4, 3B, 2 RBI, BB. Aayan Ramamurthy 4R, 2BB and 2 stolen bases (and the Win on the mound). Tristen Nunez 2B, 2 RBI, SB.
Our pitching was not at its finest. We hit 9 batters, walked 6, allowed 6 hits.. and saw 6 pitchers getting in & out of trouble. It was an exciting–if not a 100% well-played–game. There were 4 lead-changes, including us being down 6-0, up 7-6 up 13-7, then down 14-13 only to score in the last inning to turn it back around.
